Built for day traders who want an edge at the open. Session grading, institutional confluence, dynamic stops, and real-time signals — all firing together when the conditions are genuinely right.
Most opening range tools draw a box and leave the rest to you.
Opening Range B+R goes significantly further.
It grades the session before a signal fires, checks whether key institutional levels are in play, confirms that the retest candle has real participation behind it, and places your stop where price structure says it belongs — not at an arbitrary distance.
The first 30 minutes of the US trading session sets the tone for the entire day. Opening Range B+R captures that window, identifies when price makes a genuine breakout, and signals precisely when and where to enter the retest — with your stop and target already calculated.
The result is fewer signals, but significantly better ones.
View on TradingViewFrom the moment the session opens to signal confirmation — every step is automated.
Previous day high/low, pre-market high/low, weekly open, previous week levels, and round numbers are drawn automatically. The opening range box forms and closes. The session is scored out of 10 across five factors — producing a Grade A, B, or C before a signal has fired.
When price breaks the opening range with sufficient displacement, the indicator monitors the retest zone. Confluence is checked — if two or more key levels align at the ORB level, a confluence marker is placed. The ATR-based retest zone adapts to current volatility automatically.
When a confirmation candle forms at the retest with meaningful volume, a signal fires. Entry, stop, and target are drawn on the chart immediately. The stop is placed beyond the nearest swing structure with an ATR buffer — anchored to price logic, not an arbitrary distance.
Real chart, real session, real signal. The indicator running exactly as it would in your live trading environment.
The ORB box forms at the open. Price breaks down through the low with displacement. The retest zone activates. When price returns to the broken level and a confirmation candle forms, the signal fires — with stop and target calculated and drawn automatically. The dashboard top-right shows grade, gap classification, session context, and the active signal in real time.
Every feature exists because a generic ORB tool wasn't enough.
Every session graded A, B, or C before trading begins. Grade A scores 7+ out of 10 across range width, volume, pre-market activity, gap size, and ORB candle character. Filter by minimum grade to avoid low-conviction days entirely.
Checks how many key levels sit near the ORB high or low — previous day, pre-market, previous week, weekly open, monthly open, and round numbers. When two or more align, a confluence marker flags it. These are the strongest setups the indicator produces.
The gap between today's price and the prior session is classified automatically — flat, small gap, gap up, gap down, or large gap. Different gap types behave differently and knowing which you're dealing with before the ORB sets changes how you approach the session.
Stops placed beyond the nearest swing high or low with an ATR buffer — not at a fixed distance from entry. Risk is anchored to price structure, exactly where it logically belongs. Adapts correctly across instruments at different price levels without manual adjustment.
The confirmation candle at the retest must show meaningful volume. This filters setups where price action looks right but the participation isn't there to back it up — one of the most common causes of failed ORB retests.
A secondary entry model catches setups where the initial retest was missed. Identifies a counter-trend candle near the broken level and triggers when the next candle reclaims it — a second-chance entry with clearly defined risk.
Session context, levels, active signal, entry, stop, target, and today's win/loss record update in real time. Three size options and four position options so it fits your layout exactly. Lines clear automatically when price hits either level.
Alerts for Grade A sessions, high-confluence signals, A+ setups with multiple rejections, and the One Candle Rule — so you never miss a setup even when you step away from the screen. Fully automation-ready.

The 1-minute chart. This gives the clearest view of the retest, candle confirmation, and entry timing. You can set the ORB duration to 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes regardless — but signal quality is best on the 1-minute.
The opening range strategy relies on the volatility and participation that exists at the open. Signals outside this window are suppressed because the statistical edge is significantly lower outside those hours.
No. Signals are confirmed on the close of the entry candle and do not repaint. What you see on the chart is exactly what would have been available to trade in real time.
A Grade A session scores 7 or above out of 10. These are days where the ORB range is meaningful, volume at the open is elevated, the pre-market showed activity, there's a gap at the open, and the ORB candle has clear directional character.
The indicator is optimised around the US open at 9:30 ET. It can be adapted for other instruments with similar session opens by adjusting the time filter — but it has not been tested or optimised for non-US markets.
